Disability Advisory Group 10th Birthday
The Disability Advisory Group (DAG) meets today to celebrate its 10th birthday and to spend time writing liturgy for the 10am Eucharist on Sunday 21 October, our disability conference weekend.
Sunday 12 September
During the pandemic, quite a few of us discovered regular Morning Prayer.
Small actions and big impacts
My boss in my last job was often heard to say with regard to a tricky issue “You can’t boil the ocean”.
Sunday 17 January
2020 will be a year that we will never forget and 2021 is starting in the same mould, although let’s pray that we remember it as the year that the pandemic is brought under control.
Thirst
The recent weather challenges the rather pompous patronising saying that ‘horses sweat, men perspire and ladies glow’.
Footprints
When I was younger, we were told when visiting the country that we should ‘Leave nothing but footprints and take nothing but photographs.’
A Different Normal
The eggs have been hunted, the Lenten abstinences have been joyfully left behind, the Easter feast has been celebrated and schools have started again.
Thankfulness
The feast of the Epiphany which we mark today recalls the visit of the Magi and their bringing of the gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh to lay at the feet of the Christ-child.
Being ‘normal’
At this time of year, my inner ‘Victor Meldrew’ is most likely to surface. It usually happens in response to someone saying ‘holidays are over now’ or ‘it’s the start of a new term’.
