Today/Drawing Club, Sunday 30 September, 12–2pm, Glass Box. Each month for two hours the drawing club will meet and draw together. The aim of this group is to encourage and practice together. Materials, objects to draw and step-by-step help for those beginners who would like it are all provided. So, no previous experience is necessary and all are welcome.

Today/Support our St Martin-in-the-Fields Choir. The Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields are currently on the final day of their tour in South Africa for a ten-day tour of exciting choral collaboration in support of an important new project to help disadvantaged young South Africans gain access to higher education. They will sing alongside the choirs of the Cathedral Church of St Mary the Virgin in central Johannesburg, the famous Holy Cross Church in Soweto, and St John’s Anglican College and the University of Johannesburg. Today/The GRA:CE Project (Growth, Relationship and Action in the Church of England) is a research project being carried out by Theos Think Tank and the Church Urban Fund. It is looking at the relationship between social action, discipleship and church growth within parish communities of different shapes, sizes and traditions. A researcher will be visiting our 10am service today, interviewing members of the congregation and attending the International Group in the afternoon.

This Week/Club Wednesday/Wednesday 3 October, 1.00pm, 6 St Martin’s Place. Club Wednesday will be followed by a light lunch and refreshments. Then Michael Moran will speak about the influence St Francis de Sales has had upon his life and the ministry of the Community of St Francis de Sales. Richard Carter will speak of his recent visit to the Sisters of St Francis in Chennai, India. All are welcome.

This Week/Archers/Thursday 4 October, 7.00pm. Due to the availability of our leaders, the next Archers has been moved one week later. It is the day the church celebrates St Francis of Assisi so we will be enjoying a Eucharist, harvest supper and discussion about how we care for creation. All are welcome. Harvest Festival, Sunday 7 October, 10.00am. This year’s theme is ‘Sharing a Harvest of Blessings’ with a particular focus on the blessings of our partnership with St Mary’s Cathedral Johannesburg. The collection will be for the Dean Xolani Dlwati Bursary Fund, which ensures that many young people will benefit from higher education and be able to make a meaningful contribution within communities in Johannesburg.

Coming up/CTiW Prisons Mission Prayer Vigil/Friday 19 October, 7.00pm, Notre Dame de France, 5 Leicester Place, London, WC2 H7BX. A sequence of readings, dialogue, testimonies, reflections, music and prayer on the themes of prison reform, rehabilitation of prisoners, needs of victims and the Christian response. All are welcome at this Churches Together in Westminster event.

Coming Up/CTiW “Meet the Neighbours” at St Martin’s/Wednesday 24 October, 6.30pm. Beginning with Bread for the World, St Martin’s will host our friends from Churches Together in Westminster, who will also join us for soup and roll in No 6 St Martin’s Place at 7.30pm before having a talk about the ministry of St Martin’s in the Dick Sheppard Chapel at 8.00pm.
