Don’t forget clocks go forward by one hour on Sunday 29 March.
Clergy contact. We recognise that many of us will face extreme circumstances over the next few weeks and months. In situations of bereavement or emergencies relating to physical or mental health, a member of the clergy can be contacted by texting 07761 661529 or 07910 652573; one of the clergy team will call you back.
Services are continuing, albeit virtually for the congregation. The clergy team will be leading the services listed opposite and you are invited to join from home. The services in bold will be available live to everyone at www.facebook.com/stmartininthefields/. You don’t need to have a Facebook account for this. Afterwards, the services will remain on the page so you can re-watch or catch-up.The other services will be live-streamed to the Congregation Facebook group.
Facebook group for the congregation. We are exploring ways to keep everyone connected even when we can’t join together in church. If you are a member of our congregation, please contact sian.conway@smitf.org or harriet.merz@smitf.org. Only members of the group can see who is in the group and what is posted; we want this to be a safe and supportive environment for everyone. If you would be interested in joining but don’t yet have a Facebook account then please contact Sian or Harriet and they will set one up for you over the phone (send your contact details and they can call you back).
Faith Companions Launch. You may have seen Sam and Sally launch the Faith Companions initiative on Facebook this week. We’re encouraging small groups of four to make a commitment to get in touch with each other once a week, just to see how we’re all doing. This is for everyone to join in with so don’t worry if you don’t use the internet. Please contact us if you’re interested to find out more and get involved: sian.conway@smitf.org or 07761 661 529.
Great Sacred Music. The weekly online Great Sacred Music series continues every Thursday and is available here: soundcloud.com/greatsacredmusic/.
The next in the series will be released on Thursday 2 April.
Upcoming events and special services. Unfortunately, we have had to postpone or cancel special events scheduled for the coming weeks. This includes the Oscar Romero Ecumenical service, Club Wednesday (1 April), Lent Oasis, Palm Sunday’s Passion Music and the visit of the group from St Mary’s Cathedral Johannesburg. We look forward to announcing rescheduled dates, where applicable, as soon as we can.
This year’s Diocesan Lent Appeal is on behalf of ALMA and the devastating effect climate change is having in Angola and Mozambique. ALMA is the Diocese of London’s Companion link with the Anglican Church in Angola and Mozambique. Please prayerfully consider how you can generously support the Lent Appeal 2020. As we are unable to take up a collection for the Diocesan Lent Appeal this year, please donate direct at www.give.net/lent2020/.
