Today/Welcome Course, 12-1.30pm. Last week until the autumn – the Vicar speaking on the history of St Martin-in-the-Fields. Lunch included.
Trial Language in Newsletter. Over the summer we are looking at ways to make our newsletter more accessible to visitors who may not be familiar with the workings of our church. We are trying out referring to clergy by titles so as not to assume everyone knows first names. However, please do continue to use our names in person! Sally, the Associate Vicar for Ministry, welcomes any feedback on this or ideas for how we can improve inclusion by the end of August. Thank you.
Summer Pattern of Services. Until the end of August, Mondays at 4.30pm will be a service of Evening Prayer in the DSC (except 15 July when a visiting choir will sing Evensong in Church). Our Wednesday 1pm Eucharist will be a said service. Sacred Space takes a break in August and resumes on Sunday 1 September at 7pm. There is no Club Wednesday in August.
Healing Team Training/Thursday 1 August, 6.30pm-9pm, Austen Williams Room. Now is a good time to join the Healing Team if you are interested in getting involved – please talk to the Associate Vicar for Ministry for more information.
The changing monthly display by the artists’ and craftspeople’s group in the Foyer of the Crypt for July is by Andrew Carter and Helen Ireland. Each month a different member of the group or artists linked to it will show examples of their work, so do look regularly to see the changing display.
This Week/Bread for the World/Wednesday 24 July, 6.30pm. This week will explore Ignatian spirituality with Fiona Hitchiner. Bread for the World is continuing through the summer at 6.30pm on Wednesday with a soloist but the supper and listening groups will take a break in August, resuming on 11 September.
Theology Group/Sunday 28 July, 12-1pm, Austen Williams Room. There will be an opportunity to reflect theologically on ‘Is God just? Can we ever find justice?’ with the Vicar. All are welcome.

Reading Theology/Wednesday 31 July. We will gather to read The Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis, after Bread for the World, from 8-9.30pm in the Tutu Room. Next date for the diary is 20 November.

Thank you. Michael Angus would like to thank the many friends who supported the Barons Court Project by visiting Lambeth Palace Gardens Open Day. The event raised £5,173.28 for our work with people who are homeless or living with mental health issues.
Parish Away Day. We would like to thank all those who took part in the St Martin’s Parish Away Day at the Focolare Centre and contributed to making it such a rich and special day. Thank you.
Sheppard Scholars. We will shortly be saying thank you to Francesco Aresco and Georgina Illingworth as they come to the end of their time on the Sheppard Scholar scheme. They are going on to ministerial and teacher training respectively. There is a card for Georgina with the vergers if you would like to sign it. In September, Brandon Fletcher-James and Jessica White will join us as new Sheppard Scholars. We look forward to welcoming them to St Martin’s and pray for them as they prepare to join us.
Meditation Group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm in the Dick Sheppard Chapel. All are welcome.
