Today/Prayers for Healing with anointing and laying on of hands are offered by our healing team at the 10.00am service each Sunday morning. We are making a small change so that members of the healing ministry team will come into the sanctuary area as the clergy, server and assistants of communion leave, a visible sign that offering and receiving healing is part of being sent to love and serve the Lord.

Today/Children’s Programme. C-Club will be meeting as usual in the Dick Sheppard Chapel, from 11:30am-12noon. We will be exploring today’s Gospel passage- bring your best reading or drawing skills!

Vergers. Today we say ‘thank you’ to Gary Cain as he leaves the verging team to pursue his acting career. We are delighted that Danniella Downs will be taking up the role of Head Verger from this week. She has been with the team since September and is looking forward to stepping into Gary’s shoes – not literally.

PCC and Churchwarden Elections. At the Annual Meeting of Parishioners and Annual Parochial Church Meeting on Sunday 29 April this year there will be elections for churchwardens (who are elected for one year, up to a maximum of six) and PCC members (who are elected for three years, renewable once). Adrian Harris, after two years as churchwarden, has indicated he does not plan to stand again this year. Two PCC members’ terms expire this year. If you are interested in standing as churchwarden or as PCC member, please speak to the vicar or the current churchwardens.

Sunday Hospitality. Our vibrant Sunday mornings are a time when we welcome regular members of the congregation, newcomers and visitors. We are looking to encourage our ministry of hospitality by inviting more people to become part of the hospitality team (you may have seen the recent mug ministry notice). As we do this we will be able to have a welcome desk every week, support Bronwyn and the current team and make the best use of the Hall and Lightwell spaces so that they are welcoming spaces for all. If you would like to find out more please contact Bronwyn Sanders in church on Sunday and Katherine Hedderly (katherine.hedderly@smitf.org).

London Churches 6-a-side Football Tournament, Saturday 19 May. If you are interested in reliving your glory days as a Jimmy Greaves wannabe, or are already hot on the heels of Jodie Taylor or Cristiano Ronaldo, or just fancy getting back on the pitch again for some 6-a-side fun, then please contact Colin Pincott at colinpincott@hotmail.com or on 07515 551160. There are four opportunities to take part: youth, men’s, women’s and ‘over 50s walking football’ and a full eight weeks to get ourselves into shape. It would be great to get at least one team together, but we need to enter soon to ensure our place in the competition.

St Martin’s Cricket celebrates its 20th season. This Summer sees the 20th anniversary of St Martin’s Community Cricket which has involved our congregation, choirs, Sunday International Group, The Connection and others. May I thank you all for the wonderful privilege it has been to be involved, even if my cricket efforts have been sometime questionable. I am very pleased Roland Merz has agreed to take over with Ramesh Pvaneswaran representing our cricket in the Sunday International Group, which has sometimes been very necessary! I know you will give them the wonderful support you have given me. Giles Andrews
