Today/Sisters of Melanesia presentation/12noon, Tutu Room. Martin Haigh will share slides from his trip to the Solomon Islands and news of our partnership with the Melanesian Sisters and Brothers. All are welcome as we learn more about our international partners.

Today/Drawing Group/12–2.00pm, George Richards & Austen Williams rooms. Each month for two hours the drawing club meets to draw together. The aim of the group is to encourage and practice together. Materials, objects to draw and step-by-step help for those who would like it are all provided. No previous experience is necessary and all are welcome.

This Week/Great Sacred Choral Classics: Faith, Hope and Love – Love/Monday 15 July, 6.30pm. Join St Martin’s Chorus directed by Emily Dickens and led by the Vicar in a free hour-long exploration of Love, including Tallis If ye love me and Gjeilo Ubi caritas. All are welcome. A retiring collection is taken to support the mission and ministry of St Martin-in-the-Fields.

Summer Pattern of Services. Bread for the World is continuing through the summer at 6.30pm on Wednesday with a soloist but the supper and groups will take a break in August, resuming on 11 September. Until the end of August, Mondays at 4.30pm will be a service of Evening Prayer in the DSC (except 15 July when a visiting choir will sing Evensong in Church). Our Wednesday 1pm Eucharist will be a said service. Sacred Space takes a break in August and resumes on Sunday 1 September at 7pm.

The changing monthly display by the artists’ and craftspeople’s group in the Foyer of the Crypt for July is by Andrew Carter and Helen Ireland. Each month a different member of the group or artists linked to it will show examples of their work, so do look regularly to see the changing display.

This Week/Bread for the World/Wednesday 17 July, 6.30pm. Brother Sam, from the Society of St Francis, will be talking about nature of obedience and its meaning within the Christian life and drawing on the lives both of St Francis and St Benedict. He will also join us for supper and discussion afterwards. All are welcome.

Road closures/Sunday 21 July. There will be road closures in place near Trafalgar Square for the ASICS London 10K run. Please check and plan your route before you travel as these may affect your journey into St Martin’s. Access to church will be maintained with stewards permitting crossing the track which is along Charing Cross Road and Duncannon Street.

Discussion Group/Sunday 21 July. Meeting from 12-1pm in the Tutu room to discuss faith, using that day’s sermon as a starting point. Future date: 4 August.

Theology Group/Sunday 28 July, 12-1pm, Austen Williams Room. There will be an opportunity to reflect theologically on ‘Is God just? Can we ever find justice?’ with the Vicar. All are welcome.

Meeting of the artists & craftspeople’s group, Sunday 28 July, 12 noon, Tutu Room. Meeting to plan further artistic contributions to the St Martin’s community. All are welcome.

Archers Summer Party/Tuesday 30 July, 7pm. Richard Carter hosts the Archers Summer Party at Flat 1 6 St Martin’s Place. Then, our theme for reflection will be “Summer in the City” in which you are invited to share your best London summer experiences. Sheppard Scholars. We will shortly be saying thank you to Francesco Aresco and Georgina Illingworth as they come to the end of their time on the Sheppard Scholar scheme. They are going on to ministerial and teacher training respectively. In September, Brandon Fletcher-James and Jessica White will join us as new Sheppard Scholars. We look forward to welcoming them to St Martin’s and pray for them as they prepare to join us.

Meditation Group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm in the Dick Sheppard Chapel. All are welcome.
