Performer

Zhu Sun is currently completing her Bachelor’s degree at the Guildhall School, while at the same time pursuing an intense and successful performing activity. She won top prizes in the 2016 and 2017 editions of the Oxford Music Festival Recital Competition; The concerto in Worthing Music Festival 2017 and most recently the Guildhall Romantic Prize 2018. She has performed as a soloist at important venues throughout China, Hong Kong and England, such as the Milton Court Concert Hall, St Lawrence Jewry and the Wells Cedars Hall.

Zhu is also passionate about chamber music, having performed Bach Brandenburg concerto No.5, Brahms piano quartets, first piano trio, the horn trio, Schumann piano quintet, Walton piano quartet, Chausson piano trio and various duos with string players and singers in venues like the Wells Cathedral School concert hall, St. John’s Cathedral in central HK and Milton court in London. She was also featured with her chamber music group in St.Mary-le-bow church in the Young Barbican Artists series.

Zhu’s musical interests also include playing the organ, which she has had the privilege to study with the Associate organist in Wells Cathedral, Jonathan Vaughn. She particularly cherishes her experience playing the cathedral organ, on numerous occasions and for evensongs.
