Mark Gotham Conductor
The penultimate concert in the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London, and the first of two concerts at St Martin-in-the-Fields this evening, welcomes two of Cambridge’s fantastic Chapel Choirs, those of Churchill and Murray Edwards Colleges. Conductor and composer Mark Gotham directs this unusual concert of music spanning the ages and the continent. Along with choral favourites by Allegri, Brahms, Bruckner and Mozart, the combined forces of these talented choirs will perform rarer works by Lili Boulanger and Nancy Kerr, as well as three works by the conductor himself. The programme will also include Gotham’s innovative arrangement of the beautiful Adagietto from Mahler’s Fifth Symphony. Join us for this relaxing concert – an ideal way to see out the bank holiday.
