BBC Singers and Sofi Jeannin: Requiem Fragments
Friday 15 November 2024
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
The BBC Singers and Chief Conductor Sofi Jeannin present a concert of reflective music to mark the end of the season of Remembrance. At the heart of the programme is John Tavener’s Requiem Fragments, a sequence of short movements which alternate scoring and spiritual references. It is paired with other works by Tavener – his Song for Athene, a BBC commission for the BBC Singers, arguably made famous by its inclusion in the funeral service of Diana, Princess of Wales.
