Bach breaks out the trumpets and Charpentier sings Noël. It’s Christmas at St Martin-in-the-Fields, and the Monteverdi Choir and English Baroque Soloists are partying like it’s 1699.

Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir and comedian, writer, TV presenter and all-round national treasure Mel Giedroyc will be lifting the roof off at St Martin-in-the-Fields with re-imaginings of gospel and soul Christmas classics by the likes of Mervyn Warren, Quincy Jones et al (And He Shall Purify from Handel’s Messiah) and by Soul Sanctuary itself. All interspersed with seasonal jollity from Mel.
