Viktor Korotich
(Baritone)

Viktor Korotich is one of the most exciting young baritones of today; he has worked extensively with such eminent music personalities as Valery Gergiev, James Gaffigan, Yury Bashmet, Yannis Kokkos, Yustus Frantz, Isabella Bywater, Alain Maratrat, Giorgio Corsetti, Michael Sturminger, Alice Farnxam and Tugan Sokhiev.

An impressive voice and the mastery of vocal art, along with a powerful role interpretation and a convincing and daring play allow Viktor to perform gracefully  more than 30 leading roles, from a bass-baritone to a lyric baritone, at his home stage at the Mariinsky theatre in St. Petersburg, among which are Figaro (IL Barbiere di Siviglia), Tomsky (Queen of Spades),  Rodrigo (Don Carlo), Conte di Luna (Il Trovatore), Tarquinius (The Rape of Lucretia), Gianni Schicchi (Gianni Schicchi), Ford (Falstaff), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte),Escamillo (Carmen).

Viktor has recently premiered as Fieramoska in Benvenuto Cellini and his next new role in early 2018 will be Grigory Gryaznoy from the Tsar’s bride by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
