Jesus said,
‘I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.’ John 14: 20
God is present in every person on the earth, whether a person is aware if it or not. Christ incarnate in all we meet means there is no place for hatred or prejudice or indifference but rather respect and reverence.
‘We break this bread to share in the body of Christ. Though we are many, we are one body, because we all share in one bread.’ Common Worship
As parts sharing this body where heaven and earth meet we not only enjoy a likeness to God but also become one. One whole where each part of the body is just where and how God wants them to be.
‘… Yours are the eyes with which he looks compassionately on the world. Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands with which he blesses all the world…’ St Teresa of Avila
St Teresa reminds us that this body is not only beautiful but bountiful, a blessing to the world and all in it. We have been resurrected from the dead, we have been transfigured into glory and we must live out the Kingdom of God as a living sacrifice.
‘If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.’ 1 Corinthians 12: 26
While the cost of the cross will be noticeable as we spread our arms to the ends of the earth, let’s never forgot that we have been healed by the wounds borne at Calvary and on the cross.
Go well…
