Crypt Close-Ups: Windborne – Music of Midwinter
Tuesday 11 February 2025
8:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Grab a drink and get close-up to artists performing by candlelight in St Martin’s dramatic crypt. These informal concerts are immersive and atmospheric and are a great way to experience sublime music in a whole new way, in the intimate candlelit surroundings of the St Martin’s Crypt.
US folk quartet Windborne is an internationally acclaimed group of vocal chameleons who specialise in close harmony singing, shifting effortlessly between drastically different styles of traditional music. Their music spans many continents and cultures, but they remain deeply rooted in American folk singing traditions.
They share a vibrant energy onstage – profoundly connected to each other, their music, and folk music’s longtime alliance with social activism, labour and civil rights, and other movements championing the oppressed, the poor, and the disenfranchised.
