Today/Sunday 10 November. At our 10am Parish Eucharist we mark Remembrance Sunday, with Sam Wells preaching and the choir singing Lord thou hast been our refuge by Ralph Vaughan Williams. We will be keeping the two-minute silence together at 11am. Later at 5pm we mark our Patronal Festival, reflecting on the meaning of the story of St Martin and the cloak, with contributions from The Connection, the Chinese congregation, the Charity, the Trust, SMITFL, and the congregation. We will also be launching our new congregation mission statement. Afterwards we shall be sharing a meal and a quiz. All are welcome.

This Week/Bread for the World, Wednesday 13 November, 6.30pm. Everyone is welcome at our informal Eucharist, a service with prayer, music, word and reflection followed by food and discussion groups. This week’s theme is ‘Listening for the Spirit’.
Next week/Theology Group/Sunday 17 November, 12-1pm, Austen Williams Room. Paul Taylor will be chairing the discussion on the topic of public policy and the church. All are welcome to join us to theologically reflect on this issue. Future dates: 8 Dec.

The changing monthly display by St Martin’s artists’ and craftspeople’s group in the Foyer of the Crypt for November is by Jenny Cox. Each month a different member of the group or artists linked to it will show examples of their work, so do look regularly to see the changing display.
JPIC Meeting. The next meeting of the Justice Peace and Integrity of Creation group will take place on Sunday 24 November from 12-1.30pm in the Desmond Tutu Room. All interested in current issues of Social Justice and how we might respond as a community are welcome.
Global Neighbours: Pray for Tariro, providing hope for vulnerable young people in Zimbabwe: Dear Lord, remember in your gracious bounty, the young people of Tariro, as we pray for their success. Encourage their leaders and all who support them, to create communities of love and hope where every child is included.
Christmas Gala Evening/Wednesday 4 December. The evening will see a glittering revival of Vaughan Williams The First Nowell. This nativity was written specially for St Martin’s in 1958 and will be followed by a Christmas party with celebrity entertainment and a silent auction. St Mary’s Cathedral Johannesburg Visit – A group of young people and adult leaders from St Mary’s Cathedral Johannesburg will visit St Martin’s from 6-22 April 2020 and we need people to help host this group by offering accommodation or evening meals. Meditation Group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm in the Dick Sheppard Chapel. All are welcome.
