Today/BBC Radio 4 Sunday Worship, 8.10am. Today’s Sunday Worship will be led by Revd Richard Carter, members of the Nazareth Community and Helen Harris, and produced by Andrew Earis. Regular pattern of services resume. Choral Evensong resumes at the usual time of 5pm on Sundays and at 4.30pm on Mondays. Our Wednesday 1pm Eucharist will be sung from Wednesday 5 September.

This Week/Bread for the World/Wednesday 5 September, 6.30pm. Everyone is welcome at our informal Eucharist, a service with prayer, music, word and reflection. Our simple food and fellowship time recommences after its summer break. This week Yvonne Inskip will be sharing about the book she wrote about her family life.

Sunday Refreshments and Mug Ministry/We would very much like more help from the congregation to join a team serving tea, coffee and biscuits, and providing hospitality after our 10am service on Sundays. Next Week/Coventry University Research Project/Sunday 9 September. A team of researchers from Coventry University will be at the 10am service on Sunday 9 Sept. They are doing research on religious worship and social connectedness, and are looking for 15-20 volunteers to take part in their project. This will involve completing a survey before and after the service and having a ‘pressure cuff test’ (having a cuff inflated on the arm, similar to what is done when you have your blood pressure taken, but NOT a blood pressure reading). It is being hosted by the Friends of St Martin’s but you don’t have to be a member in order to volunteer. Revd Colin Midlane. Revd Colin Midlane is helping to cover the vacancy at St Mary’s Church, Bow, E3, and will be there two Sundays each month for the foreseeable future.

Meeting of artists & craftspeoples’ group/Sunday 23 September, 12 noon, Tutu Room. All are welcome to attend a meeting to plan further artistic contributions to the St Martin’s community.

This Month/Support our St Martin-in-the-Fields Choir/September. The Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields are travelling to South Africa in September for a ten-day tour of exciting choral collaboration in support of an important new project to help disadvantaged young South Africans gain access to higher education. They will sing alongside the choirs of the Cathedral Church of St Mary the Virgin in central Johannesburg, the famous Holy Cross Church in Soweto, and St John’s Anglican College and the University of Johannesburg.
