Umberto Laureti has widely performed both as a soloist and chamber musician in Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Norway and United Kingdom in important venues such as Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Teatro Malibran and Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Palacio Festivales in Santander, Steinway Hall, Regent Hall, St. James Piccadilly, Duke’s Hall and Royal Albert Hall in London. His performances have been live broadcasted by Rai Radio Tre.
He has recently played in renowned festivals and foundations, such as Lisztomanias Festival of Chateauroux, Lago Maggiore Musica Festival, Liszt Festival of Grottammare, William Walton Foundation and in several venues of the Jeunesse Musicales Network.
He has been selected to take part in several renowned festivals across Europe, amongst them the Encuentro de Musica de Santander and the Oxford Piano Festival where he attended various master classes.
Umberto was born in 1991 in San Benedetto del Tronto; he started to play the piano at the age of six and at twelve he was enrolled in the Pergolesi Conservatoire where he graduated with top marks and honourable mention, studying piano and chamber music with Enrico Belli and Alessandra Gentile.
Umberto recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London with a Dip RAM (Academy’s highest performance award for an outstanding final recital), under the guidance of Professor Ian Fountain.
In 2017, he received his Diploma with honours from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia where he studied under Benedetto Lupo for three years.
He is now enrolled as a Phd student at the Royal Academy of Music, where he is researching on the figure of Ferruccio Busoni.
