Today/Crèche at St Martin’s. For the 0-4 age group, with trained childcare leaders, takes place in the Austen Williams Room every Sunday. Please ask a steward to show you where to go. Crèche will be taking a break next Sunday 28 January.

Today/Prayers for Healing with anointing and laying on of hands are offered by our healing team following the 10.00am service each Sunday in the sanctuary.

Today/Children’s Programme. C-Club will be meeting as usual, in the Dick Sheppard Chapel from 11:30-12noon. We shall be reading together and being creative with the Gospel passage of the wedding at Cana.

Today/Inspired to Follow: Art and the Bible Story, 12.00pm in the Austen Williams Room, looking at the Annunciation. This is an opportunity to engage with paintings from the National Gallery’s collection, Biblical story and a theological reflection, in conversation with others. The sessions are intended to deepen an understanding of the Christian faith and to help you reflect on what it means to follow Jesus today. Speak with Alastair McKay for further information.

iKnow Church. We are moving to a new database for the parish which will also be a great way for us to help with the organisation of the parish. It will also help us in our move to the new data protection regulations (GDPR) coming in during the year. Whether you use IT or not, the new system will help us to stay in touch with you via your preferred method of communication. Do come along and find out more and bring your smart phone or tablet with you and we can demonstrate the system on your own device. We will be holding the final session to help you update your details and introduce the system to you in the Hall today.

This week/Bread for the World, Wednesday 24 January at 6.30pm. Everyone is welcome at our informal Eucharist, a service with prayer, music, word and reflection, followed by food and fellowship.

This week/Meditation Group, Tuesday 23 January, 6.30pm in the Dick Sheppard Chapel. The meditation group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. All welcome.

This week/Archers, Thursday 25 January. We meet for Holy Communion in the Austen William’s Room at 7.00pm followed by supper. This will be followed by a discussion on the theme of “Ring out the old ring in the new, ring out the false ring in the true”. What is your hope for 2018 for yourself and for the world! Homelessness Sunday, Sunday 28 January, 10.00am. Our worship on Homeless Sunday is an opportunity to celebrate work that tackles the problem of homelessness and the stories of people who are no longer struggling with their housing. Whatever our level of engagement with homelessness; Homeless Sunday is an opportunity to take it a step higher. The preacher is Sam Wells. The collection at the 10am and 5pm services will be going to The Connection at St Martin’s. Please use the gift aid envelopes in the pews. The service is followed at 12noon by the opportunity to hear Pam Orchard, Chief Executive Officer of The Connection at St Martin’s, speak about their work helping homeless people in London, in St Martin’s Hall.

Artists & Craftspersons’ group, Sunday 28 January, 12noon, Tutu Room. A meeting to plan further artistic contributions as part of our common life at St Martin’s.

Club Wednesday, 7 February, meet for lunch after the 1pm Choral Eucharist. Afterwards Revd Richard Carter will share about his recent trip to Lampedusa, with photos.

Faith in the Questions, Monday 12 February, 7.00pm. This evening offers a performance of a new one-act play, Counting the Clouds, followed by a conversation. The play, performed by Riding Lights, tells the story of a scientist who’s a Christian, wrestling with the structure of the universe, when his personal life is shaken to the core. The conversation that follows gives people a chance to ask their own questions of leading scientists. Free tickets, via Eventbrite.

The changing monthly display by the artists and craftspeoples group in the Foyer of the Crypt for January is by Kathryn Hardy. Each month a different member of the group will show an example of their work, so do look regularly to see the changing display.

Choral Classics at St Stephen Walbrook, Mondays, 1.00pm. A new choral series at St Stephen Walbrook. A 30 minute sequence of beautiful music with readings, led by the Revd Dr Alastair MacKay with the Choral Scholars of St Martin’s. Every Monday from to 19 March. All welcome.

Lent Course 2018: Abiding – What does it mean to Abide in God’s love? We will be using Ben Quash’s wonderful Lent book Abiding as we reflect upon what it means to abide in body, in mind, through care, in relationship, in exile, in woundedness, and in peace. Wednesdays in Lent and Holy Week from 21 February – 28 March from 6.30-8.45pm. All are welcome. CTiW is supporting borough-wide eco-awareness by choosing “Creation Care” as the theme for its AGM. There will be inspiring speakers and stalls with information and opportunity for conversation.
